Life gets started early here

Suns up at 5:15 or so, and activity starts around 5:30, including the grazing chickens

Kids are off to school by 6:30. There's some absolutely beautiful peaceful time before we get going.

We are staying at a lodge operated by the Assemblies of God Church. Apparently it receives the Vic Wiens seal of approval, and so they arranged for us to stay here. Its just the right combination of comfort and simplicity -- though luxurious by local standards.

There is a lot of help, including the very friendly Steven who calls me pastor (way faster than studying for 4 years!).
Last thing that seems to happen here in the morning is that Steven Sr. walks Steven Jr. (4 years old) to school at around 8:30.

It is very beautiful country. Tea plantations, mountains in the distance, beautifully cultivated fields, great sky. And lots of people, people, people ... incredibly industrious, creative and very far from lazy. ... but more on that later.

Today we're teaching business to the local women. They'll gather at the pastors home after their morning chores are done ... around 8:30 or so.
